UAE Expands Visa-on-Arrival for Indian Nationals

Dubai, Oct. 17, 2024 — The Federal Authority for Identity and Citizenship, Customs and Ports Security (ICP) has announced an expansion of the visa-on-arrival program for Indian nationals. As of Thursday, Indian travelers holding tourist visas to the UK and EU countries will now be eligible for this convenient entry option.

Previously, the visa-on-arrival was limited to Indian nationals with residence or tourist visas for the US, as well as those residing in the UK and EU. This change allows for greater access to the UAE, provided that the applicant’s visa and passport are valid for at least six months.

In addition, the ICP revealed a new 60-day visa option available for Dh250 for eligible Indian travelers.

Updated Fee Structure

The authority also introduced a revised fee schedule for visa services. For Indian nationals and their family members holding visas or residencies from the US, EU countries, or the UK, a 14-day entry visa will now cost Dh100. An extension of this visa for an additional 14 days will be priced at Dh250.

Maj-Gen Suhail Saeed Al Khaili, director-general of the ICP, emphasized that this expansion of the visa-on-arrival option is part of the UAE’s long-term strategic partnership with India. He highlighted the initiative’s aim to bolster economic and trade relations, attract investment, and enhance the UAE’s status as a global tourism and economic hub.

This move is expected to further facilitate travel and foster stronger ties between the two nations.
