Vice President, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, paid a visit to SeaWorld Yas Island in Abu Dhabi, the Middle East’s first marine life theme park and the first SeaWorld park outside the United States.
During his tour, Sheikh Mohammed was provided with an overview of the extensive facilities at the educational and entertainment complex, which represents a significant addition to the UAE’s array of tourist attractions.
Expressing his thoughts on the visit, His Highness emphasized the UAE’s world-class infrastructure, which has been developed through robust public-private partnerships and has contributed to the country’s position as a leading global tourist destination. He acknowledged the role of SeaWorld Yas Island in raising awareness about marine environmental preservation.
Sheikh Mohammed was briefed on the diverse range of educational and entertainment experiences available across the park’s eight sections, showcasing marine habitats from various parts of the world, including polar regions and tropical areas. Spanning an area of 183,000 square meters and spread across five floors, SeaWorld Yas Island offers a captivating experience.
His Highness also learned about the research and rescue center at SeaWorld Yas Island, the region’s first facility dedicated to rescuing and rehabilitating marine organisms. This center plays a crucial role in the UAE’s commitment to protecting marine environments and conserving biodiversity.
During the tour, Sheikh Mohammed visited the largest water basin of its kind globally, which houses approximately 68,000 different marine species and holds around 25 million liters of water. He also explored Abu Dhabi World, an attraction within SeaWorld Yas Island that offers insights into the marine life and heritage of the Gulf region and the UAE.
