Pakistan Opt to Bowl First in Second ODI Against Australia in Adelaide

Pakistan’s captain, Mohammad Rizwan, won the toss and chose to bowl first in the second match of the three-game one-day series against Australia at Adelaide Oval on Friday.

Australia leads the series 1-0 following a thrilling two-wicket win in the opening match in Melbourne earlier this week.

Pakistan has named an unchanged lineup for the match, with fast bowler Naseem Shah cleared to play after leaving the field during the first ODI due to what appeared to be cramping issues.

Australia, meanwhile, has made one change to their side. Veteran paceman Josh Hazlewood returns to the team in place of Sean Abbott, joining the formidable pace trio of Pat Cummins, Mitchell Starc, and Hazlewood.

In the batting department, Jake Fraser-McGurk and Matt Short will once again open the innings, stepping in for the injured Mitchell Marsh and Travis Head. Both will be eager to make a bigger impact after being dismissed cheaply in the first match.

Match Officials:

  • Umpires: Chris Gaffaney (New Zealand), Sam Nogajski (Australia)
  • TV Umpire: Chris Brown (New Zealand)
  • Match Referee: Dave Gilbert (Australia)

With the series hanging in the balance, the second ODI promises to be another thrilling contest between the two sides.
