GameExpo, a highlight of the Dubai Games and Digital Sports Festival organized by the Dubai Festivals and Retail Corporation, is set to captivate gaming aficionados with its upcoming game character fashion show and championship at the Dubai World Trade Centre on Friday and Saturday.
The event promises an immersive experience for attendees, featuring a showcase of game character-inspired fashion creations alongside the prestigious Dubai Game Character Fashion Championship. Participants in the character fashion show will have a brief 30 seconds to flaunt their costumes before a panel of international game character fashion experts.
On Saturday, contestants will vie for victory in three distinct categories: children, crafts, and performance, with three winners to be crowned in each group.
Mona Al Falasi, Director of the E-Sports Strategy Department at the Dubai Festivals and Retail Corporation, emphasized the festival’s objective to reinforce Dubai’s stature as a regional hub for digital gaming and sports. She highlighted the exponential growth of the gaming sector in the region and underscored the festival’s role in spotlighting the vast commercial and career prospects it offers.
In addition to the character fashion show and championship, GameExpo attendees can explore the latest game releases, engage with gaming luminaries, partake in e-sports competitions, attend programming workshops, and participate in Minecraft family challenges. Moreover, they can witness the thrilling PlayBond Championship for influencers in the gaming and digital sports arena, scheduled for May 4 and 5.
Supported by prominent entities including the Dubai Future Foundation, Dubai Next, Dubai Police, and Dubai Sports Council, GameExpo is made possible through partnerships with Emirates NBD and various private sector collaborators.
