The third edition of the Global Media Congress, taking place from November 26 to 28 at ADNEC Centre in Abu Dhabi, promises to deliver groundbreaking discussions on the future of the media industry. The event will focus on key challenges in the digital transformation of news content, fostering creativity among the youth, and addressing legal issues within the sector.
Dr. Jamal Al Kaabi, Director-General of the National Media Office, hinted at exciting surprises for attendees. “Seventy percent of our speakers this year are first-time participants. We won’t be disclosing names yet, but every session will tackle topics that have never been discussed before,” said Dr. Al Kaabi, emphasizing the event’s focus on valuable content rather than the identity of the speakers.
The congress aims to attract more than 30,000 visitors from around the world, building on the success of last year’s event, which saw over 23,900 participants from 172 countries. “We are still receiving applications and expect even more attendees,” Al Kaabi added.
The event will reflect local traditions, with the seating arrangement inspired by typical Arabian majlises and an opening ceremony conducted in Arabic. Among the unprecedented topics this year is ‘media and early childhood,’ which has never been discussed at such an event before.
The first day will focus on shaping the industry’s future and investment opportunities, as well as addressing the evolving challenges of media coverage in the digital age. The second day will delve into media content, including the rules surrounding it, the content that attracts audiences, and the coverage of war and conflict. It will also highlight the importance of preserving the Arabic language. The third day will explore the future of digital media, the challenges it faces, and emerging opportunities for media creation.
With its diverse and forward-thinking agenda, the Global Media Congress is set to be a key event for professionals and experts in the media industry.
