UAE Shuts Down Unlicensed Training Centre Over Major Education Rule Breaches

The United Arab Emirates has temporarily closed a training centre, imposed fines, and referred its management to prosecutors following the discovery of serious violations of the country’s education regulations.

According to the Ministry of Higher Education and Scientific Research (MoHESR), inspections revealed that the unnamed centre was operating an unlicensed nursery, admitting students without official approvals, and promoting unaccredited academic programmes.

Further investigations uncovered public safety violations and the employment of unlicensed workers, prompting swift action by authorities.

The MoHESR confirmed that the centre will remain closed until all required licences and approvals are secured, though it did not disclose the specific emirate where the facility is located or details about its academic offerings.

The enforcement exercise was carried out in collaboration with the Ministry of Education and the Department of Economic Development to ensure full regulatory compliance.

In addition, MoHESR stated that it is working closely with the Telecommunications and Digital Government Regulatory Authority (TDRA) to block the centre’s online accounts and websites used for promoting its programmes.

The ministry emphasized its commitment to protecting students and ensuring that all educational and training institutions across the UAE operate within legal and accredited frameworks.

It also reaffirmed that regular inspection campaigns will continue to strengthen oversight of higher education institutions and training centres nationwide.

MoHESR urged parents and students to verify the licensing and accreditation status of any educational or training institution before enrolling. Verification can be easily done via the Ministry’s official website or through its customer service line (800 511).
