The Trump Organization has unveiled plans to develop Qatar’s first Trump-branded property in partnership with Qatari Diar and Dar Global, marking a $5.5 billion real estate venture that further anchors the Trump brand in the Gulf’s luxury development sector.
The centerpiece of the project will be the Trump International Hotel & Tower, an 80-story beachfront skyscraper modeled after the iconic Trump Tower on New York’s Fifth Avenue. Although branded as a Qatari initiative, the mixed-use development will span a 4.4-mile stretch north of Doha, with a significant portion located on Dubai’s Sheikh Zayed Road near the Financial Metro Station, raising some early questions about the geographic labeling of the complex.
The ambitious development will include a Trump International Golf Course, a network of ultra-luxury Trump Villas, and a Land of Legends theme park, designed to position the site as a major regional hub for tourism, leisure, and high-end living. Led by Qatari Diar and constructed by Dar Global—the international arm of Saudi Arabia’s Dar Al Arkan Real Estate—the project reflects the growing collaboration between Gulf sovereign wealth and high-profile Western luxury brands.
Eric Trump, executive vice president of the Trump Organization and son of U.S. President Donald Trump, is currently touring the Gulf to promote the venture. In a statement released on Wednesday, he said the tower reflects the Trump brand’s “unwavering commitment to excellence, luxury and innovation.” He later posted on social media that the property would serve as an “ultra-luxury landmark tower.”
This is the Trump Organization’s fifth collaboration with Dar Global, following projects in Saudi Arabia’s Jeddah and Riyadh as well as a development in Oman. Speaking on the occasion, Dar Global CEO Ziad El Chaar described Dubai’s “vibrant economy and strategic location” as key motivations for investment, underscoring the Emirate’s ongoing emergence as a global capital for high-end real estate.
The announcement comes at a pivotal moment for the Gulf, as governments seek to diversify their economies through tourism and foreign direct investment. Dubai, in particular, has positioned itself as a beacon for international developers with its futuristic skyline, liberal investment policies, and expanding financial sector.
President Donald Trump is expected to visit Qatar in the coming weeks in what will be his first major international trip since beginning his second term in office. The visit is likely to coincide with announcements of further investment agreements across Qatar, the UAE, and Saudi Arabia, reinforcing U.S. commercial engagement in the region.
While no official completion date has been set, the Trump-Dar Global project is expected to break ground later this year.
