Sharjah Consultative Council Committee Visits House of Wisdom to Enhance Educational and Cultural Initiatives

As part of its agenda for the first regular session of the eleventh legislative term, the Education, Culture, Media, and Youth Affairs Committee of the Consultative Council of the Emirate of Sharjah visited the House of Wisdom in Sharjah. The committee aims to develop key indicators to boost the performance of the educational, cultural, media, and sports sectors in the emirate.

During the visit, the committee received an overview of the House of Wisdom, representing a cutting-edge model for future libraries globally. The House of Wisdom’s roles and objectives were scrutinized, emphasizing its role in redefining reading, knowledge, learning, and social interaction for all age groups and nationalities in Sharjah.

Commending the House of Wisdom’s pivotal role in shaping new cultural dimensions and cognitive activities while promoting reading, the committee highlighted its alignment with the vision of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah. The aim is to position Sharjah as a hub for culture and knowledge, fostering entities that support intergenerational reading.

Throughout the visit, the committee discussed its plans and visions supporting Sharjah’s rich cultural and educational landscape. It emphasized communication with national universities and expressed interest in educational, heritage, and sports aspects. The committee outlined plans for similar visits to entities affiliated with the Rubu’ Qarn Foundation for Creating Leaders and Innovators, including Sajaya Girls of Sharjah, Youth of Sharjah, and Children of Sharjah in the upcoming week to explore their diverse efforts and programs.
