Fujairah Police recently announced the arrest of several reckless drivers in the Al Faqit area, as part of ongoing efforts to enhance road safety. The arrested individuals have been referred to the Public Prosecution for further investigation.
This follows a similar crackdown earlier this year, when Fujairah Police apprehended several motorists involved in illegal street racing on a public road in the Al Sodah region. The authorities launched an investigation in March after monitoring surveillance footage, which revealed that one of the vehicles lost control, swerved off the road, spun, and collided with a rail barrier. The incident, which was widely shared in early 2024, prompted swift action from law enforcement, who tracked down the involved drivers.
The recent arrests highlight the authorities’ continued commitment to ensuring road safety and cracking down on dangerous driving behaviors in the emirate.
