Over 500 Volunteers from 12 Nationalities Assist in Organizing Dubai 2024 Asian Athletics Championships

The Asian Athletics Championships “Dubai 2024” is witnessing active participation from more than 500 volunteers, comprising both males and females representing 12 nationalities. Organized at the Dubai Police Officers Club, the tournament, running from April 24 to 27, enjoys the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Ahmed bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Second Deputy Ruler of Dubai and Chairman of the National Olympic Committee.

Mohammed Al Balushi, a prominent leader in the Takatuf Program of the Emirates Foundation, emphasized the significance of nurturing the volunteer skills of young individuals as a cornerstone for encouraging their engagement in volunteer activities and providing them with ample opportunities across the nation.

Al Balushi highlighted the volunteers’ diverse experiences in various events, underlining their meticulous selection and distribution across numerous organizing committees. These committees cover guest services, team coordination, transportation, crowd management, competition oversight, media liaison, and ceremonial duties, including the opening and closing ceremonies.

Assuming the role of Protocol Commander, Al Balushi praised the volunteers’ unwavering commitment to working round the clock. He noted that the Takatuf Volunteer Program extends its reach to all state-level activities, emphasizing the integral role of volunteering in the Emirati identity. He expressed gratitude to the visionary leadership for promoting a culture of volunteering, which contributes to showcasing the country’s positive image and ensures its global prominence in hosting and organizing events.
