News Report: Paris Saint-Germain Secures French Football League Title with Record-Breaking Performance

Paris Saint-Germain made history in the French Football League by clinching the title three rounds before the end of the competition, accumulating 70 points and maintaining a 12-point lead over its closest competitor, Monaco.

The team sealed the title after Monaco’s loss to Lyon 2-3 in the 31st round of the competition on Sunday. This victory marks Paris Saint-Germain’s third consecutive league title, the twelfth in its history, and the 50th crown in all competitions.

This achievement adds to the team’s impressive record of winning the league title three times in a row for the third time in the last 12 seasons. Notably, Paris Saint-Germain previously secured the title four times in a row between the seasons of 2012/2013 and 2015/2016.

This is not the first time the team has clinched the title before the end of the season. In the previous two editions of the tournament, Paris Saint-Germain achieved similar feats.

In the 2023 edition, the team secured the league title in the penultimate stage of the competition, accumulating 85 points in 37 matches. In the 2022 season, Paris Saint-Germain won the title four rounds before the end with 78 points, leading with a significant 16-point difference over Marseille, its closest rival.

With its 12th league title, Paris Saint-Germain now holds the record for the most titles in the French League, surpassing Saint-Etienne, Olympique de Marseille, Nantes, Monaco, Lyon, Bordeaux, and Reims Stadium.

In addition to dominating the league in terms of points, Paris Saint-Germain also outstrips Monaco in market value, boasting a value of 1.02 billion euros compared to Monaco’s 347.20 million euros, according to Transfer Market website statistics.

This victory adds to Paris Saint-Germain’s successful 2023-2024 season, following its Champions Cup triumph in January against Toulouse with a 2-0 victory at the Parc des Princes Stadium.
