An employment fair hosted by the Higher Colleges of Technology in Abu Dhabi saw the participation of approximately 60 companies offering numerous job opportunities, training programs, and sponsorship opportunities for graduates.
Over 500 graduates and students attended the exhibition, exploring job opportunities in sectors aligned with their specializations and requirements. Many participants also engaged in interviews for employment with the exhibiting companies.
Dr. Faisal Al-Ayyan, Director of the Higher Colleges of Technology Complex, personally inspected the exhibition activities. He met with representatives from participating companies and business institutions, who provided insights into the nature of job opportunities available and their specific employment requirements. Dr. Al-Ayyan also observed several job interviews conducted with students during the event.
Dr. Adel Al-Amiri, Advisor to the Director of the Higher Colleges of Technology Complex, emphasized the significance of the employment fair as a vital event for the colleges. He highlighted its role in achieving strategic goals aimed at enhancing employment opportunities for students and graduates, particularly within the private sector and vital sectors of the country. The participation of approximately 60 institutions and employers in the Abu Dhabi Career Fair underscores the partnership between colleges and various sectors, reflecting employers’ interest in attracting college graduates due to their applied skills.
The participating entities represented key sectors such as health, construction, energy, gas, oil, electricity, and management consulting. Many of them conducted direct interviews with students and graduates seeking employment opportunities.
Dr. Al-Amiri noted that the colleges have integrated employment support strategies, including continuous program review and development to align with evolving job market demands. The “vocational apprenticeship” program offers students practical training opportunities during their studies to enhance their applied skills and market experience. Additionally, employment centers within colleges focus on developing students’ skills in job interviews to bolster their employment prospects.
