Liwa International Festival to Conclude with Thrilling Hill Climb Race

The curtains will fall on the Liwa International Festival tomorrow, Sunday, as participants gear up for the “Mereb Hill” climb race featuring cars in three distinct categories: the “open category,” the “dealership” category, and the “Hilux” category. Each competitor will have two attempts to ascend the hill, striving to achieve the best time.

The organizing committee at Liwa Sports Club, in collaboration with the Department of Culture and Tourism – Abu Dhabi, has announced the successful completion of preparations for the festival’s closing events. Festival enthusiasts are eagerly anticipated to join the closing day’s festivities.

Yesterday marked the commencement of hill climb competitions in three categories: electric cars, the 6-cylinder turbo category, and the 8-cylinder gas category. In the “8-cylinder gas cylinder” category, Mohammed Rashid Al-Jabri secured the first position with a remarkable time of 5.830 seconds. Saudi Arabia’s Mishal Mohammed Al-Khalidi claimed the second spot with 5.842 seconds, while Khaled Abdullah Rashid took the third position with 5.997 seconds.

Abdullah Mohammed Al-Dahmani emerged victorious in the 6-cylinder turbo category, clocking in at 6.565 seconds.
