Fire Near US Consulate in Dubai After Drone Attack

A drone strike caused a fire near the US consulate in Dubai, officials said, amid escalating attacks across Gulf cities. The fire was quickly contained, according to the Dubai Media Office, and streets around the consulate were cordoned off as police managed the area.

Residents reported hearing a loud explosion before seeing smoke near the consulate, while jet sounds were also heard over the city. The incident follows a series of Iranian drone and missile strikes in the region, including attacks on the US embassy in Riyadh and Kuwait City.

The attacks are part of broader hostilities in the Middle East, with nearly 400 missiles and around 1,000 drones launched toward the United Arab Emirates, Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar, and Jordan in the opening days of the conflict, according to open-source intelligence group Mintel World.

Authorities confirmed no casualties were immediately reported near the Dubai consulate, while security measures remained in place to prevent civilian access and ensure public safety.
