Dubai authorities have activated a broad emergency and operational response as heavy rain and unstable weather conditions sweep across the emirate, prompting remote work directives, public closures and heightened safety measures.
Government departments and several private sector entities were instructed to implement remote working arrangements as a precaution, while residents were urged to limit non-essential movement. The move comes amid concerns over flooding, reduced visibility and hazardous road conditions caused by persistent rainfall.
Dubai Police announced that emergency teams have been placed on high alert, with rescue units deployed across land and sea to respond swiftly to any incidents. Patrols have been intensified, and coordination with civil defence, ambulance services and other emergency agencies has been strengthened to ensure public safety.
As part of the precautionary measures, authorities ordered the temporary closure of public beaches and marine activity areas, warning residents and visitors against entering the sea due to rough conditions and strong currents. Parks and some outdoor facilities were also affected as officials assessed safety risks.
Residents were advised to follow official updates, avoid flooded areas, and adhere strictly to safety instructions issued by authorities. Motorists were cautioned to drive carefully, maintain safe distances and avoid waterlogged roads.
Dubai’s leadership emphasised that the measures are preventive, aimed at minimising risks and ensuring rapid response during the period of unstable weather. Emergency services remain on standby as forecasts indicate continued rainfall in the coming hours.
Authorities have urged the public to rely on verified government channels for updates as the situation evolves.
