Dubai-based industrial group Mark Cables has completed a 200 MW thermal power plant project in Burkina Faso, the company announced on Monday.
The €180 million ($213 million) project was delivered in just six months, highlighting the company’s rapid execution capabilities across Africa.
Burkina Faso faces a significant electricity deficit, with only around 20% of its population having access to power and the country relying heavily on imports from coastal West African states.
Mark Cables said the new plant would provide a concrete solution to the national electricity shortage, supporting government efforts to stabilise the grid and reduce dependence on imports.
The project underscores growing investment in Africa’s energy infrastructure as countries seek to meet rising demand and enhance energy security.
