Dubai, UAE – The Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA) has sponsored a state-of-the-art sports treatment hall at the Senses Residential and Day Care for Special Needs (Senses) in Dubai. The hall aims to provide the best treatment and rehabilitation services for children of determination, focusing on motor, functional, and mental rehabilitation.
DEWA’s sponsorship is part of its ongoing efforts to promote inclusivity and empower people of determination within Dubai’s society. The initiative reflects DEWA’s commitment to supporting Dubai’s inspiring model of inclusion.
As part of the sponsorship, DEWA has equipped the treatment hall with necessary equipment and devices to ensure an inclusive treatment program that caters to the diverse needs and requirements of individuals with disabilities. Over 30 volunteers from DEWA actively participated in preparing the hall to welcome people of determination.
Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, the Managing Director and CEO of DEWA, emphasized the importance of enhancing community happiness by supporting people of determination. In 2022, DEWA achieved a 94 percent satisfaction rate in this regard. Al Tayer highlighted the significance of launching community initiatives and programs that engage and empower this important segment of society, fostering their positive involvement within the community.
DEWA’s efforts align with the National Policy for Empowering People of Determination, launched by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President, Prime Minister, and Ruler of Dubai. The policy aims to create an inclusive society that empowers people of determination and ensures a decent life for them and their families.
Furthermore, DEWA’s sponsorship supports the “My Community… a City for Everyone” initiative, initiated by H.H. Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of Dubai Executive Council. The initiative’s objective is to transform Dubai into an accessible city that caters to the needs of people of determination.
Dr. Nadia Khalil Al Sayegh, the Director-General of Senses, expressed gratitude to DEWA for its collaboration and support. She extended an invitation to all organizations, entities, and departments to join forces with the center in order to benefit people of determination, their families, and the community as a whole in various developmental and empowerment fields.
