Dubai Police Integrates AI Across 29 Administrative Operations

The Dubai Police General Command has announced a significant technological advancement by integrating artificial intelligence (AI) systems into 29 administrative operations across various departments. This initiative aligns with directives from His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai and Chairman of the Executive Council. It aims to enhance efficiency for employees and customers, bolster Dubai’s security framework, and support the annual ‘Dubai Universal Blueprint for Artificial Intelligence’. This blueprint is designed to improve economic competitiveness, resilience, quality of life, and future readiness through various initiatives and programs.

Major Advancements in AI Integration

Major General Khalid Nasser Alrazooqi, Director of the General Department of Artificial Intelligence at Dubai Police, emphasized the ongoing efforts to enhance police operations through AI adoption. “This initiative strengthens the community’s security and safety, prevents crime, and elevates customer satisfaction, ultimately reinforcing trust in the police force and boosting the emirate’s security index,” he said.

Key AI-Driven Initiatives:

  1. Accident Smart Planning and Vehicle History Records:
  • Smart Planning for Minor Traffic Accidents: This system streamlines accident analysis and report generation, reducing the steps to obtain a “Minor Accident” report from seven to four.
  • Vehicle History Record: AI integration provides potential buyers with easy access to a vehicle’s accident history, ensuring transparency about its mechanical condition before purchase.
  1. Officer ‘Amna’ and the Smart App:
  • Virtual Officer Amna: An AI virtual officer fluent in Arabic and English, Amna handled 20,000 public inquiries in 2023.
  • Smart App: Available on iOS, Android, and Huawei, the app integrates AI to offer 70 services in seven languages. It has been downloaded 7.9 million times and enhances user experience with advanced programming and AI technologies.
  1. Blockchain Technology for Lost Passport Certificates:
  • In collaboration with partners, Dubai Police utilizes AI and blockchain technology for “lost passport certificate” transactions. Since 2021, 66,413 certificates have been issued using this secure and encrypted service, eliminating the need for customers to visit service centres, saving them time and effort.
  1. Smart Police Station (SPS):
  • The SPS offers various services to the public through 25 stations across Dubai. Since the beginning of 2024, the SPS has received 127,515 visitors and processed 36,376 transactions. Customers benefit from 46 services provided by these smart stations.

These AI-driven initiatives exemplify Dubai Police’s commitment to leveraging advanced technologies to enhance public safety, improve administrative efficiency, and provide superior service delivery. Through continuous innovation, Dubai aims to remain at the forefront of smart city development, ensuring a high quality of life for its residents and visitors.
