UAE Welcomes First Batch of Palestinian Children for Medical Treatment

Today marked the arrival of the first plane carrying 15 children and their families as part of the initiative led by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State, to provide medical treatment to a thousand Palestinian children and their families from the Gaza Strip in UAE hospitals.

Arriving from Al-Arish Airport in Egypt, the plane landed at Abu Dhabi Airport with children facing severe injuries, burns, and urgent medical needs, including cancer patients requiring immediate treatment.

Her Excellency Maha Barakat, Assistant Minister of Foreign Affairs for Health Affairs, assured that the medical teams and hospitals in the UAE are fully prepared to receive the remaining children and their families. Comprehensive and integrated care will be provided, delivering the best specialized services in adherence to international standards until their recovery.

Since the onset of the crisis, the UAE has promptly offered urgent humanitarian aid and supplies to Gaza. Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan directed the provision of $20 million in aid and the establishment of an integrated field hospital inside Gaza as part of Operation “The Gallant Knight 3.”

Her Excellency highlighted that the UAE, in support of relief efforts, sent 51 planes carrying 1,400 tons of food, health aid, and shelter materials to Gaza, in coordination with international organizations such as the World Food Programme.

These initiatives underscore the UAE’s historical commitment to supporting the Palestinian people, particularly the vulnerable, including children who constitute a significant portion of Gaza’s population. This effort aligns with the UAE’s established fraternal positions toward the Palestinian people.
