His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President of the UAE, Deputy Prime Minister, and Head of the Presidential Office, emphasized that “Martyr’s Day” is a day dedicated to honoring and expressing gratitude to the nation’s martyrs for their sacrifices and heroism. These acts of bravery, he noted, will forever serve as symbols of dignity and sources of pride for future generations.
In his speech commemorating “Martyr’s Day” on November 30, His Highness stated, “In the United Arab Emirates, both the leadership and the people remember and honor those who sacrificed their lives in the line of duty to defend the nation’s security, preserve its sovereignty, and ensure that the UAE flag continues to wave high as a symbol of pride and nobility.”
He continued by expressing gratitude and pledging that the sacrifices of the martyrs will endure as emblems of dignity and sources of glory. Their noble spirits, he affirmed, will serve as guiding lights for future generations, and the stories of their martyrdom will stand as examples of profound love for the homeland and its defense. Sheikh Mansour emphasized the nation’s commitment to caring for the families of the martyrs and ensuring their well-being.
On this national occasion, His Highness called upon the citizens to embody the noble values exemplified by the nation’s martyrs, urging them to consider these heroes as role models for dedication, loyalty, and love for the nation. He highlighted that the sacrifices of the martyrs reflect the enduring values of sacrifice and generosity established by the nation’s founding leaders, particularly Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, and affirmed the commitment to walking in the same path under the leadership of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the State.
His Highness concluded by invoking God’s preservation for the state, wishing for peace and love, and extending prayers for the mercy and forgiveness of the souls of the martyrs. He further expressed hope for blessings of security, safety, and stability to be bestowed upon the nation.
