The 25th Sharjah International Arabian Horse Festival, under the patronage of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, is set to take place from February 29 to March 3 at the Sharjah Equestrian and Racing Club. The festival, featuring participants from 10 countries, is organized in collaboration with the European Authority for Purebred Arabian Horse Beauty Contests (ECAHO) and is sponsored by the Sharjah International Airport Authority.
The festival kicks off with a diverse array of competitions, starting with one-year-old fillies, followed by two-year-old fillies, and progressing through various categories, including mares and colts of different age groups. The festival highlights the exceptional equipment on the club’s outdoor field.
The festival’s first day commences with categories for one-year-old fillies, followed by two-year-old fillies, each showcasing the impressive participation of horses in various sections. Subsequent days feature rounds for three-year-old fillies, mares aged four years and above, and one-year-old foals, contributing to a comprehensive celebration of the Arabian horse breed.
The culmination of the festival includes championship rounds, each sponsored by the Sharjah International Airport Authority. These championship rounds feature outstanding horses that secured top positions in their respective categories, adding excitement to the prestigious event.
His Excellency Sultan Khalifa Al Yahyai, Chairman of the Seventh Regional Group and Director General of the Sharjah Equestrian and Racing Club, expressed gratitude to His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi for his unwavering support of equestrian sports. Al Yahyai also acknowledged the Sharjah International Airport Authority, a longstanding partner in the success of the festival, and highlighted the significant competition from participants representing 10 countries in this year’s edition.
He emphasized the club’s commitment to encouraging emerging stables and horse owners, fostering their growth within the vibrant equestrian community in the United Arab Emirates.
