The Sharjah Economic Development Department’s entrepreneurial support foundation, “Rowad,” signed a comprehensive cooperation memorandum with the “Gracia” Group to support entrepreneurship in the agricultural sector. The collaboration aims to enhance concepts and projects related to agricultural sustainability among young Emirati citizens in the Emirate of Sharjah while fostering the qualifications and experiences of nationals in this field.
The memorandum, inked at the Sharjah Economic Development Department’s headquarters, involved Hamad Ali Abdullah Al Mahmoud, the department’s president, and Hamed Ahmed Al Hamed, the founder and chairman of the Gracia Group.
Hamad Ali Abdullah Al Mahmoud emphasized that the agricultural and livestock sector is a vital area receiving special attention from the Emirate of Sharjah, striving to achieve sustainable food security through major projects announced and initiated to meet nutritional needs and boost production rates.
He revealed that “Rowad” had formulated a comprehensive vision regarding the support mechanism for emerging and small to medium-sized entrepreneurial projects in the agricultural sector. This vision encompasses launching effective partnerships with distinguished entities from both the public and private sectors. He expressed pride in inaugurating these partnerships with the signing of the memorandum of understanding and collaboration with the “Gracia” Group. He hailed the Gracia Group as a successful Emirati company leading an innovative model for agricultural sustainability, contributing positively to the agricultural sector’s impact and development to meet present needs and future requirements.
The memorandum is set to establish a purposeful partnership aimed at promoting entrepreneurial culture and agricultural sustainability. It will involve the exchange of knowledge and experiences by raising community awareness about the importance of agricultural projects and their role in achieving food security and self-sufficiency. Specialized training programs, informative workshops, joint media campaigns, and marketing materials will be launched collaboratively with “Gracia.” Additionally, joint events will be organized to attract entrepreneurs and individuals interested in launching pioneering projects in the agricultural sector. Further initiatives and activities will be announced gradually.
Hamed Ahmed Al Hamed remarked that the collaboration between the private and public sectors reflects a significant role and impact in transferring knowledge to society, creating opportunities for collaboration among the nation’s citizens to contribute directly to enhancing the performance of small and medium-sized projects based on sound investment principles.
He added, “Rowad” seeks to contribute to supporting this trend and translating the directives of the Executive Council of the Emirate of Sharjah regarding the launch of fruitful initiatives and partnerships that facilitate the establishment and sustainability of national agricultural projects.
