Oman Air Resumes Full Operations as Iran-Israel Ceasefire Eases Regional Tensions

Oman Air has resumed its full flight schedule following the implementation of a ceasefire agreement between Iran and Israel, marking a return to normalcy after days of heightened regional tension that disrupted air travel across the Middle East.

The airline confirmed on Monday that all previously suspended routes have been reinstated, with operations running according to the regular timetable. The move follows the easing of security risks that had forced multiple carriers in the region to cancel or reroute flights over the past week.

“Oman Air is pleased to announce the full restoration of its flight services following the recent geopolitical developments in the region,” the airline said in a statement. “The safety of our passengers and crew remains our highest priority, and we continue to monitor the situation closely.”

The resumption comes after international diplomatic efforts — including mediation led by former U.S. President Donald Trump — brought about a ceasefire between Iran and Israel, halting hostilities that had disrupted commercial aviation routes and left passengers stranded across several Gulf airports.

During the height of the conflict, Oman Air, along with other regional carriers, suspended flights traversing Iranian and Israeli airspace, citing safety concerns. Several services between Muscat and key hubs such as Dubai, Doha, Riyadh, and European cities were either cancelled or significantly delayed.

Passengers welcomed the news, with many taking to social media to express relief over the resumed services and improved travel outlook.

Aviation analysts say Oman Air’s swift reinstatement of its schedule signals growing confidence that the ceasefire will hold — and that the airspace over the region is once again safe for civil aviation.

Other Middle East carriers, including Emirates, Qatar Airways, and Etihad, are also expected to resume normal operations in the coming days, pending regulatory clearances and continued regional stability.

The Oman Civil Aviation Authority has confirmed it is in constant communication with international aviation bodies to ensure compliance with safety protocols and risk assessments.

As calm returns to regional skies, Gulf airlines are bracing for a spike in passenger traffic, especially with the upcoming Eid holiday travel season.
