Netflix Raises Subscription Prices in the UAE

Streaming giant Netflix has announced a price increase for its UAE subscribers, effective December 23. The price hike varies depending on the plan chosen by users, with some paying up to Dh10 more each month.

Under the new pricing structure, those on the Standard plan, which allows streaming on two devices in full-HD, will now pay Dh49 per month, up from the previous rate of Dh39.

For Premium subscribers, who enjoy ultra-HD streaming on up to four devices at once, the monthly fee will rise to Dh71, from Dh62.

However, users on the Basic plan, which allows streaming in HD resolution on a single device, will not see any price increase. The Dh35 rate for this plan remains unchanged.

How to Switch Plans: Subscribers who want to lower their monthly fees can switch to a more affordable plan by following these steps:

  1. Log in to your Netflix account at netflix.com.
  2. Go to your account overview and click on the “Change plan” option.
  3. Select your preferred plan and confirm the change.

Subscribers who downgrade their plan will see the lower price reflected in their next billing cycle, but will still have access to the benefits of their current plan until then. On the other hand, users upgrading their plan will be charged the difference based on the remaining balance of their last payment, plus pro-rata fees for the new plan.

Netflix’s price hike comes amid ongoing efforts to adjust to market conditions and continues to reflect the company’s evolving pricing strategy in the region.
