Dr. Issa Al Hammadi, Director of the Educational Center for the Arabic Language for the Gulf States, affirmed the esteemed status of the Holy Qur’an Academy in Sharjah as a scholarly and knowledge-driven institution specializing in the Holy Qur’an and its sciences. He emphasized its role in contributing to the advancement of human civilization, reinforcing its values and identity, and embodying Sharjah’s vision with its profound message to humanity.
This acknowledgment transpired during Dr. Issa Al Hammadi’s visit to the complex, accompanied by members of the Board of Trustees of the Educational Center for the Arabic Language for the Gulf States. The visit was part of the Gulf delegation’s festivities for International Arabic Language Day in Sharjah and aligned with the twelfth meeting of the Center’s Board of Trustees at the center’s headquarters in Sharjah.
The delegation included esteemed members of the Center’s Board of Trustees from Gulf countries: Dr. Ibrahim Al-Zaben, Dr. Majid Al-Hafi, Hassan Al-Nuaimi, Dr. Anisa Al-Saadoun, Badriya Al-Marzouqi, and the poet Hilal Al-Shayadi.
During the visit, His Excellency Abdullah Khalaf Al Hosani, Secretary-General of the Holy Qur’an Academy, provided the visiting delegation with an in-depth overview of the complex, its museums, and its various scientific and research projects. A guided tour of the complex’s museums and corridors followed, showcasing manuscripts, copies of the Holy Qur’an, the Kaaba covering, and artifacts related to renowned reciters.
Dr. Issa Al-Hammadi remarked, “What captivates attention during the visit is that this structure was designed to excel in all aspects. The beauty and grandeur of the place emanate from its source, evident in the magnificence of the Holy Qur’an, the sciences of recitation, the possessions of famous reciters, the Kaaba covering, and the manuscripts on which the Holy Qur’an was inscribed, spanning from the era of Prophecy to the modern era. This reflects the keen interest and vision of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, in serving the Holy Qur’an and its sciences, as well as promoting and disseminating them.”
He highlighted the significance of the manuscripts on which the Holy Qur’an was written, noting their role in illustrating the intersection of Arab civilization with others, resulting in a new, creative civilization. The complex houses various scripts, including the Andalusian script, considered a variation of the Kufic script, used in the Maghreb countries and recognized as the Andalusian Kufic script. This represents the creative achievements of Arab and Islamic civilization, where the Holy Qur’an played a pivotal role in disseminating cultural and creative influences to other cultures across the Islamic world.
Al-Hammadi emphasized that the Holy Qur’an Complex’s greatness is evident not only in the Holy Qur’an itself but also in the scientific, cognitive, and cultural messages it conveys from Sharjah to the world. It aims to elevate humanity with authentic and divine values, incorporating extensive research and studies within the complex, such as the rhetorical interpretation of the Holy Qur’an and the Encyclopedia of Iqra’ Methods. The complex serves as a repository of manuscripts and embodies essential human and cultural values.
