Global Intensive Care Summit and UAE Critical Care Conference Set to Commence in Dubai

Dubai is poised to host the inaugural global summit of the International Federation of Intensive Care and Critical Care, coinciding with the 20th UAE Critical Care Conference. The event, slated to kick off next Friday, will draw participation from 45 countries worldwide, with over 2,200 physicians and nurses converging to delve into cutting-edge developments in intensive care medicine, particularly focusing on the latest advancements in artificial respiration technologies.

Dr. Hussein Nasser Al Rahma, Chairperson of the Conference and renowned Emergency Medicine Consultant, shared insights into the summit’s agenda, which encompasses a diverse array of topics. These include discussions on sepsis, infections within intensive care settings, acute kidney injury, mechanical ventilation, acute respiratory distress syndrome, surgical procedures, anesthesia, pain management, elderly nutrition, cardiopulmonary resuscitation, and infection prevention. These discussions will encapsulate the collective experiences, research findings, and evolving treatment protocols amassed by critical care and trauma specialists since the onset of the COVID-19 pandemic.

Spanning three days at the InterContinental Festival City Hotel, the event boasts a lineup of 142 international speakers and 69 regional speakers, complemented by 90 local speakers presenting their latest scientific contributions to the field of intensive care and critical care.

The program further includes eight scientific workshops, five training courses, and the signing of pivotal agreements with various international entities.

A special workshop on brain death, facilitated by the Ministry of Health and Community Protection, will be a focal point of the event. This workshop aims to enhance practices related to brain death declaration, offering guidance on utilizing neurological criteria for this purpose.

Additionally, the event will host 40 esteemed international and local companies specializing in critical care equipment and ventilators, providing a platform to showcase their latest innovations and products in the realm of critical care medicine.
