In a proactive step towards enhancing medical capabilities, a delegation from the Emirates Red Crescent Authority conducted a visit to the “Ahl Misr Hospital for Burn Treatment” in Cairo. The purpose of the visit was to assess the equipment supplied as part of the Authority’s initiative, with a total value of approximately AED 2.7 million. This initiative aims to fortify the hospital’s capabilities in treating burn injuries, contributing to pain relief for the affected individuals. The hospital is gearing up for its official inauguration scheduled for February 2024.
Significant Support for Burn Treatment
The Ahl Misr Hospital holds the distinction of being the first institution exclusively dedicated to burn treatment, offering its services free of charge. The generous initiative by the Emirates Red Crescent involved the provision of essential equipment to the hospital, aligning with recommendations announced during the seventh edition of the “Zayed Charity Marathon” in 2022. The proceeds from the marathon were directed to enhance the medical and therapeutic capacities of the hospital.*

During the visit, the Emirates Red Crescent delegation explored various departments of the hospital, conducting inspections of wards, emergency units, and operating rooms. This thorough examination aimed to gauge the hospital’s preparedness to deliver comprehensive treatment services for burn victims.*
UAE’s Humanitarian Commitment
The support extended by the Emirates Red Crescent exemplifies the UAE’s commitment to its humanitarian mission of alleviating health-related challenges faced by vulnerable populations. It also underscores the robust cooperation between the UAE and Egypt in addressing humanitarian, health, and developmental needs of diverse communities.*
