Emirates Boosts Global Network with Retrofitted Aircraft and Expanded Services

DUBAI, UAE – July 1, 2025 – Emirates today announced a significant expansion of its global flight schedule and the deployment of more retrofitted Boeing 777s and Airbus A380s, a strategic move to meet surging demand across its extensive network. The enhancements aim to offer more passengers the airline’s upgraded onboard experience, notably its highly sought-after Premium Economy cabin.

The airline’s ambitious retrofit program is advancing rapidly, with one aircraft undergoing a complete nose-to-tail refresh every three weeks. Since the program’s inception in November 2022, Emirates’ engineering teams have successfully retrofitted 60 aircraft, ensuring a consistent and elevated travel experience across its fleet.

Key Enhancements Effective October 26

Emirates’ latest schedule adjustments and capacity boosts, all set to take effect from October 26, include:

  • Milan Expansion: Emirates will add a third daily flight to Milan (EK 101/102), operated by a Boeing 777-300ER aircraft, bolstering its presence in the Italian market.
  • Daily South American Service: The airline’s linked services to Rio de Janeiro and Buenos Aires (EK247/248) will transition to daily flights, enhancing connectivity to South America.
  • Shanghai A380 Upgrade: Following its upgrade to a retrofitted Boeing 777 from July 20, the EK302/303 service to Shanghai will be further enhanced with the deployment of the iconic Airbus A380. Additionally, the second daily flight to Shanghai (EK 304/305) will be served by a retrofitted Boeing 777 aircraft.

Looking further ahead to 2026:

  • Premium Economy Debut in Zurich: The highly anticipated Premium Economy cabin will debut on Emirates flight EK87/88 to Zurich, also starting February 1, 2026, with a newly retrofitted A380.

Enhanced Onboard Experience

Despite a dynamic operating environment, Emirates continues to prioritize customer satisfaction by ramping up operations to meet demand for both the current summer and the upcoming winter periods.

Passengers flying on Emirates’ retrofitted Boeing 777s and A380s can anticipate a superior experience across all cabin classes. The four-class Emirates Boeing 777 configuration features either 6 or 8 First Class suites, 38 or 40 Business Class seats, 24 Premium Economy seats, and 256 Economy seats. On a four-class Emirates A380, the dedicated Premium Economy cabin is situated at the front of the main deck, offering 56 seats in a comfortable 2-4-2 configuration. These seats boast generous pitch and width, along with thoughtful amenities such as in-seat charging points and a convenient side cocktail table.
