Dubai’s RTA to Introduce New Metro Link Bus Routes and Service Enhancements Starting August 30

Dubai, UAE – In a significant boost to public transportation, Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) is set to unveil a series of updates to its bus network starting August 30, 2024. The changes, which include the introduction of four new metro link bus routes and enhancements to existing services, are designed to improve the daily commuting experience across the Emirate.

Among the key changes, the RTA will replace Route 31 with two new routes, F39 and F40. The F39 will operate between Etisalat Bus Station and Oud Al Muteena Roundabout Bus Stop 1, running every 30 minutes. Similarly, the F40 will connect Etisalat Bus Station to Mirdif, Street 78, on the same 30-minute frequency.

Additionally, Route F56 will be split into two new routes: F58 and F59. Route F58 will travel northward from Al Khail Metro Station to Dubai Internet City, while Route F59 will connect Dubai Internet City Metro Station to Dubai Knowledge Village. Both routes will also run every 30 minutes.

Route 21 will undergo a renaming and restructuring, with the introduction of two separate routes: 21A and 21B. Route 21A will run from Al Quoz Clinical Pathology Services Bus Stop 1 to Al Ghubaiba Bus Station, whereas Route 21B will operate in the reverse direction. This adjustment aims to enhance route clarity and improve service coverage.

In addition to the new routes, several existing routes will see changes. Route 61D will merge with Route 66, and Route 95 will be combined with Route 95A, resulting in Route 95A only. This adjustment is designed to facilitate connections to Route X92 and extend coverage to the Jebel Ali Industrial Area.

Route 6 will be shortened to run from Oud Metha Metro Station to Dubai Healthcare City, eliminating the segment between Al Ghubaiba Station and Oud Metha. Route 95A will be realigned to start from Veneto, Jebel Ali Waterfront, covering the Jebel Ali Industrial Area, and Route 99 will be modified to include JAFZA One.

Other notable changes include the addition of new stops in The Greens for Route F31, new stops in Al Furjan for Route F45, and the removal of the JAFZA One stop from Route F54. Intercity Route E700 will also be adjusted to commence from Etisalat Bus Station rather than Union Bus Station, en route to Fujairah.

The RTA’s Public Transport Agency will enhance 35 bus routes to ensure timely arrivals, including Routes 6, 20B, 26, 36A, 36B, 50, 66, 83, 88, 95A, 96, 99, 320, C01, C09, C10, F03, F05, F07, F10, F18, F23, F23A, F24, F31, F45, F46, F47, F49, F53, F54, SM1, X02, X25, and X92.

Passengers are advised to familiarize themselves with the new routes and adjustments to plan their journeys effectively. These changes are part of the RTA’s ongoing commitment to enhancing public transportation services and improving the commuting experience for all residents and visitors in Dubai.
