Dubai – Passengers using Dubai’s public bus and marine transport stations can now enjoy free Wi-Fi at 29 locations, thanks to a new initiative by the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) in collaboration with Etisalat (e&).
The move aims to enhance commuter experience by providing seamless internet connectivity, allowing travelers to stay connected via smartphones, tablets, and laptops while on the go.
Expanding Digital Access
Khaled AbdulRahman Al Awadhi, Director of Transportation Systems at RTA’s Public Transport Agency, confirmed that the service will soon be extended to all 43 RTA stations—comprising 21 bus stations and 22 marine transport stations—with full coverage expected by the second quarter of 2025.
“We have already installed Wi-Fi devices at 29 stations, and efforts are progressing swiftly to cover the remaining locations,” Al Awadhi said.
Smart City Vision
The initiative aligns with Dubai’s vision of becoming the world’s smartest and happiest city, reflecting RTA’s commitment to digital transformation.
“This initiative enhances daily commuting, making bus and marine transport journeys more enjoyable and rewarding,” Al Awadhi added.
As Dubai continues to integrate smart technology into its infrastructure, the free Wi-Fi rollout underscores the emirate’s ambition to offer world-class public transport services.
