Digital Dubai to Develop Data and AI Platform in Partnership with Moro Hub

Dubai, UAE – Digital Dubai, the government entity leading the digital transformation efforts in the emirate, has announced the development of the Dubai Data and Artificial Intelligence Platform, adhering to the highest international standards. On Thursday, Digital Dubai awarded a contract to Moro Hub – Data Hub for Integrated Solutions, a subsidiary of Digital DEWA, to commence work on the project by the end of September 2024.

The unified platform will act as a gateway for official data and statistics pertaining to Dubai, allowing government and private entities to seamlessly host and share data while ensuring optimal levels of accessibility and security. It will incorporate innovative AI-driven approaches for data display and analysis, aiding the government in making informed decisions based on advanced analytics. This initiative aims to enhance digital maturity across Dubai, contributing to improvements in the data maturity index by focusing on quality, usability, and governance.

The agreement was signed at Digital Dubai’s headquarters by Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD and CEO of Dubai Electricity and Water Authority (DEWA), and Hamad Obaid Al Mansoori, Director-General of Digital Dubai, in the presence of various key officials from both organizations.

The platform will also enable government entities to utilize synthetic data, a concept previously championed by Digital Dubai. It features a scalable infrastructure compatible with future requirements, enhancing the flexibility of government operations and ensuring accurate data and performance indicators across public and private sectors.

Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer emphasized the alignment of this initiative with the directives of His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, aimed at solidifying the UAE’s global leadership in digital solutions. He described the project as a crucial step in advancing Dubai’s digital infrastructure and contributing to the Dubai Economic Agenda, D33, which aims to double the emirate’s economy over the next decade.

Hamad Obaid Al Mansoori remarked that the establishment of the Dubai Data and AI Platform marks a significant milestone in the digital transformation journey, emphasizing the importance of leveraging AI to enhance the economic value of digital data. He noted that this initiative positions Dubai as a global benchmark for utilizing modern technologies to improve the living experience for residents and create a favorable investment environment for businesses.

This collaborative effort is poised to significantly enhance the capabilities of Dubai’s digital ecosystem, reaffirming the emirate’s commitment to becoming a leading global digital capital.
