Bayanat Partners with Imkan for Smart Mobility on Sha Emirates Wellness Island

Bayanat, a leading provider of geospatial data products and services, has signed a preliminary agreement with Abu Dhabi-based real estate developer Imkan to develop smart mobility infrastructure on Sha Emirates Island, located in the Al Jurf district.

The ambitious project will feature an integrated, AI-enabled transportation ecosystem designed to support fully autonomous driving within the wellness community, Bayanat announced in a statement on Tuesday.

Sha Emirates Island is set to become the “world’s first well-being island,” positioned on a private island within the Al Jurf development, strategically located between Abu Dhabi and Dubai. Scheduled to open in 2026, the island will offer a unique residential experience focused on holistic well-being.

The project is a collaborative effort between Imkan and European wellness brand Sha Wellness Clinic. Imkan will be responsible for developing the island’s physical infrastructure, while Bayanat will provide the essential digital infrastructure necessary for the operation of autonomous vehicles and unmanned systems.

“Bayanat has long been a pioneer of autonomous driving and unmanned systems in the Middle East,” said Abdulla Al Shamsi, Chief Operating Officer at Bayanat. “We are excited about this joint project with Imkan, which will combine our expertise to create a unique concept globally – a healthy-living island featuring autonomous vehicles.”

This initiative underscores the commitment of both companies to leveraging advanced technology to enhance quality of life and promote sustainable living. The smart mobility infrastructure will integrate seamlessly with the wellness island’s overall design, offering residents a cutting-edge, eco-friendly mode of transportation.

The development of Sha Emirates Island aligns with broader regional goals of advancing smart city concepts and implementing innovative technologies to create more sustainable and livable urban environments. By focusing on autonomous driving and AI-enabled systems, the project aims to set new standards for residential communities worldwide.

As the opening of Sha Emirates Island approaches, both Bayanat and Imkan are poised to lead the way in the next generation of smart, wellness-oriented residential developments. The collaboration not only highlights the potential of autonomous vehicle technology in enhancing daily life but also emphasizes the importance of strategic partnerships in driving innovation and development.

The announcement of this partnership marks a significant milestone in the journey towards creating smarter, more connected communities, setting the stage for future advancements in the integration of technology and urban living.
