Ajman Transport Authority Reports a 25% Increase in Trainees for Taxi and School Bus Driver Programs

The Ajman Transport Authority has noted a significant uptick in the number of trainees participating in its training programs designed for taxi drivers, school bus drivers, and supervisors. Rasha Khalaf Al Shamsi, Executive Director of the Support Services Foundation, reported a 25% increase in the training participation rate, bringing the total number of trainees for the year 2023 to 4,620 individuals.

The surge in trainees corresponds with an expansion in the number of training courses offered, totaling 537 courses specifically tailored for taxi drivers, school bus drivers, and supervisors. Al Shamsi outlined that the training programs for school bus supervisors cover essential topics such as safety protocols for student transportation, first aid, student management on buses, the proper use of fire extinguishers, and correct evacuation procedures.

For taxi and school bus drivers, the training encompasses five specialized programs aimed at familiarizing them with effective methods of interacting with the public and passengers. The courses also provide insights into the latest safety regulations and laws relevant to their roles.
