Emirates Advises Passengers to Plan Ahead for January Travel Surge at Dubai Airport

Emirates has issued a travel advisory urging passengers to arrive at Dubai International Airport (DXB) at least four hours before departure to navigate the expected surge in travelers from January 2 to 5. The airline is preparing for a peak period as the school year resumes, with millions of passengers expected through DXB.

To ensure a smoother journey, Emirates recommends taking advantage of services such as Biometrics Smart Gate registration, City Check-In for early luggage drop, and the Home Check-In service. City Check-In allows passengers to check in luggage 4 to 24 hours ahead at locations including the Dubai International Financial Centre and Ajman Central Bus Terminal, earning Skywards Miles in the process. First-class and Platinum members can also use Emirates’ complimentary Home Check-In service.

Emirates also advised passengers to avoid carrying restricted items, including regulated power banks, and highlighted airport amenities such as complimentary trains between concourses, shuttle buses, and dedicated buggies for first-class travelers. By planning ahead and using these services, passengers can navigate the busy airport efficiently and start 2026 with a stress-free travel experience.
