The “Council of the Arabic Language in Mauritania,” established through the generosity of His Highness Sheikh Dr. Sultan bin Muhammad Al Qasimi, Member of the Supreme Council and Ruler of Sharjah, organized a symposium titled “Coordinating Work and Building Partnerships in Arabic Language Service.” The event brought together 20 entities, institutions, and associations dedicated to supporting and enhancing the Arabic language in Mauritania and the Arab world.
The symposium delved into various topics, addressing challenges and opportunities associated with the Arabic language. Participants shared insights into projects, programs, and activities aimed at elevating the language’s status and enhancing the capabilities of its speakers and learners.
Experiences, knowledge, and suggestions were exchanged during the symposium, focusing on best practices in teaching the Arabic language. Discussions also explored innovative programs and tools conducive to facilitating language learning and teaching, aligning with advanced technological and cognitive developments.
The event aimed to enhance communication, interaction, and collaboration among organizations working in the Arabic language domain. This includes coordination among members of the “Arabic Language Council,” a collaborative effort encompassing various bodies to strengthen the Arabic language. The symposium sought to review and analyze achievements and initiatives implemented during the annual “Arabic Language Month” in December.
It is noteworthy that the Council of the Arabic Language’s new headquarters in Nouakchott, the Mauritanian capital, was inaugurated. Comprising a select group of scholars, the council is tasked with promoting the Arabic language both within Mauritania and on the international stage.
