The Department of Social Services is taking part in the 12th edition of the Suburbs Festival, organized by the Department of Suburbs and Villages Affairs. The festival is set to run from December 8 to 29 at Al Qarayen Park 4.

The department’s involvement includes the setup of a dedicated pavilion featuring a range of activities, programs, and diverse workshops. This annual participation underscores the department’s commitment to engaging with the community at one of Sharjah’s most prominent social events.

Maryam Al-Qaseer, Director of the Social Education Department at the Department of Social Services, highlighted the significance of the festival as an avenue for public outreach and awareness-raising within society. The presented activities serve as a connecting link between the department and various community groups, fostering awareness, promoting values, and encouraging participation in interactive activities and workshops. Al-Qaseer emphasized the department’s focus on communication with children and families.

The department’s contributions to the festival encompass a variety of items, including programs aimed at instilling noble moral values, preventive and protective initiatives, and workshops involving the department’s production center. These workshops total around 132 diverse family and educational programs, covering topics such as “My Rights” and “Parental Relations,” skill-enhancement programs like “Creativity,” “National Identity,” and “Digital Safety.” Other offerings include the “Intaj” workshop, “Children’s Rights,” the “Young Volunteer” and Friendship program, “Taj Al-Mehan” workshop, and “Chimney Decorating” for the elderly.
