Zayed Higher Organisation for People of Determination Completes Redevelopment Project for Speech-Language Pathology Centres in Egypt

Zayed Higher Organisation for People of Determination (ZHO) has successfully concluded a project aimed at redeveloping 68 speech-language pathology centres across 27 Egyptian governorates. The initiative, supported by ADQ, an Abu Dhabi-based investment and holding company, is part of a collaborative agreement between ZHO and the Egyptian Ministry of Youth and Sports (EMYS) under the Bridges of Hope programme, which focuses on supporting families of People of Determination.

The completion of this project was made possible through the joint efforts of various Egyptian organizations dedicated to serving People of Determination in Egypt. It reflects the growing cooperative relations between the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and Egypt, aligning with the vision of building strong partnerships and exchanging experiences with local, regional, and international entities.

This accomplishment also falls within the framework of the UAE’s participation, represented by ZHO, in the Decent Life (Haya Karima) initiative, which aims to enhance human development for all segments of society.

Dr. Ashraf Sobhi, Egypt’s Minister of Youth and Sports, praised the fruitful cooperation between Emirati and Egyptian institutions in benefitting People of Determination through the EMYS-ZHO partnership. The Bridges of Hope programme, guided by the visionary leadership of both countries, has yielded positive outcomes in Egypt, bringing significant benefits to the areas it encompasses.

In a press statement, Minister Sobhi affirmed the Egyptian government’s commitment to integrating People of Determination into various activities and projects, in line with the directives of President Abdel-Fattah el-Sisi. He expressed his gratitude to the leadership and people of the UAE for their unwavering support to Egypt.

The EMYS-ZHO-ADQ collaboration marks the beginning of several large-scale projects in which the Egyptian Ministry of Youth and Sports will participate alongside various entities and institutions, aiming to serve the youth through an ongoing series of programs and initiatives.

Abdullah Abdul-Aali Al-Humaidan, Secretary General of ZHO, expressed his delight at the project’s completion, emphasizing its goal of sharing the programme’s expertise and experience to support families of People of Determination in different regions of Egypt through family counseling programs.

Al-Humaidan expressed his gratitude for the efforts exerted by the EMYS throughout the various stages of the project. He extended his thanks to the Egyptian Minister of Youth and Sports and the ministry’s People of Determination Office team.

He welcomed the exchange of expertise between ZHO and its counterparts, the mutual visits between officials from both sides, and the collaborative efforts in several fields that serve People of Determination, enabling their integration into society as productive individuals engaged in nation-building.

Al-Humaidan also expressed appreciation for the support provided by ADQ, highlighting the successful cooperation between Emirati and Egyptian institutions, which has significantly benefitted People of Determination through the Bridges of Hope programme.

He emphasized that the Bridges of Hope programme symbolizes the strong bond between the Egyptian and Emirati people, serving as a valuable addition to the Decent Life initiative, in line with the Egyptian leadership’s commitment to People of Determination.

The Bridges of Hope programme offers awareness initiatives for families and parents of People of Determination at rehabilitation centres, focusing on developing their skills in caring for their children. Workshops are organized to identify learning difficulties, obstacles, and challenges faced by individuals, facilitated by a team of social workers and speech therapists who provide specialized skills.

Psychological and social support is also offered, along with knowledge transfer mechanisms, to provide enhanced assistance to families of People of Determination under the supervision of competent Emirati authorities and the EMYS
