Vadim Nemkov to Face Tim Johnson at PFL’s Road to Dubai Champions Series on Jan. 25

Former Bellator light heavyweight champion Vadim Nemkov is set to compete at the PFL’s Road to Dubai Champions Series event on January 25, taking on heavyweight veteran Tim Johnson. The bout will take place at the Coca-Cola Arena in Dubai, following a change in Nemkov’s originally scheduled opponent.

Nemkov (17-2), who was initially slated to face Corey Anderson, will now meet Johnson after Anderson announced the fight cancellation last month, citing Nemkov’s preference for an “easier fight.” The Professional Fighters League (PFL) has not commented on the reason behind the opponent switch.

Bellator confirmed the new matchup on Monday afternoon, ensuring that Nemkov, who is riding a 13-fight unbeaten streak, remains on the card. The Russian fighter last competed in February 2024, marking his return to the heavyweight division with a dominant victory over PFL veteran Bruno Cappelozza via technical submission.

Tim Johnson, a former UFC heavyweight, enters the fight aiming to recover from a TKO loss to Denis Goltsov in August. Before that setback, Johnson had been on a three-fight winning streak, with two of those victories coming by stoppage.

This matchup adds intrigue to the Road to Dubai Champions Series, with Nemkov’s heavyweight resurgence and Johnson’s determination to get back on track promising an exciting showdown.
