As part of the ongoing strategic partnership between the United Arab Emirates (UAE) and the Republic of Uzbekistan in government modernization, the UAE government recently organized a specialized program aimed at enhancing the capabilities of Uzbekistan’s government cadres. This initiative occurred during an official visit by a high-level Uzbek delegation to the UAE.

The delegation, comprising officials and employees from various Uzbek government agencies, including the Office of the President, the Cabinet of Ministers, and the Ministry of Employment and Labor Relations, sought to learn from the UAE’s experiences in government human resources management and modernization.

During the visit, participants gained insights into the best practices of the UAE government in developing human resources management systems and the role of the Federal Authority for Government Human Resources in overseeing and improving them. The exchange aimed to facilitate the adoption and application of these practices within the Uzbekistan government.

Abdullah Nasser Lootah, Assistant Minister of Cabinet Affairs for Competitiveness and Knowledge Exchange, emphasized the UAE’s commitment to investing in human capital and attracting talent, aligning with the vision of the country’s leadership. He highlighted the UAE’s success in developing sustainable government skills and capabilities to meet future challenges and requirements, positioning it as a global model for government modernization.

Lootah also underscored the deep cooperation and partnership between the UAE and Uzbekistan in various government sectors, particularly in knowledge exchange programs aimed at enhancing government capabilities.

Laila Obaid Al Suwaidi, Director General of the Federal Authority for Government Human Resources, welcomed the Uzbek delegation, emphasizing the longstanding relations between the two countries in modernization and government development. She highlighted the UAE’s advanced human resources management system, known for its flexibility, dynamism, and innovative initiatives aimed at enhancing government efficiency and talent development.

During the visit, the Uzbek delegation participated in training programs and workshops organized by the Federal Authority for Government Human Resources, where they were introduced to the UAE’s human resources information management system and relevant policies, legislation, and strategies.

The partnership between the UAE and Uzbekistan in government modernization, initiated in April 2019, has yielded significant achievements and collaborative projects aimed at enhancing government work models and capacity building in Uzbekistan.
