UAE and Germany Explore Enhanced Trade and Investment Collaboration

The Federation of Emirates Chambers and the German Chambers of Commerce and Industry recently convened to discuss bolstering cooperation mechanisms and advancing trade and investment ties between the private sectors of both nations. The meeting, held at the Abu Dhabi headquarters of the Federation of Chambers, saw the participation of Humaid Mohammed bin Salem, Secretary General of the Federation of Emirates Chambers, along with Clement Cooper, Head of the Commercial Affairs Department at the German Chambers of Commerce and Industry, and Oliver Ohms, Executive Director of the Joint Emirati-German Council for Industry and Commerce. Ahmed Jama Al-Qaizi, Assistant Secretary-General of the Federation of Emirates Chambers, was also present.

Emphasizing the UAE’s commitment to fostering robust trade and investment relations with Germany, Humaid Mohammed bin Salem expressed the Emirati private sector’s anticipation of future initiatives. He highlighted the importance of activating collaborations through entities like the German Chambers of Commerce and Industry and the Joint Emirati-German Council for Industry and Commerce across various commercial, industrial, and investment sectors. Bin Salem underscored the necessity of establishing new avenues for investment, encouraging German businesses to explore diverse opportunities in the UAE.

Bin Salem detailed the numerous incentives, privileges, and facilities available to foreign investors in the UAE, emphasizing the strategic location that stimulates trade and investment. In response, Clement Cooper commended the strong ties between the private sectors of both nations, expressing appreciation for the Federation of Emirates Chambers’ roles and efforts in enhancing economic and investment cooperation between the UAE and Germany.

Cooper welcomed the prospect of strengthening cooperation mechanisms between the Federation of Emirates Chambers, its member chambers, and the German Chambers of Commerce and Industry. He stressed the importance of reciprocal visits and trade delegations to further mutual economic interests and enhance collaboration.
