Two prominent national figures were recently honoured with the Mohammed bin Rashid Sash for their significant contributions to national initiatives and projects that have made a lasting impact on Emirati society. The recognition was awarded by Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, during a ceremony on Tuesday.
Sheikh Ammar Bin Humaid Al Nuaimi’s Vision for Ajman
Sheikh Ammar bin Humaid bin Rashid Al Nuaimi, the Crown Prince of Ajman, was recognised for his pivotal role in shaping the development of the government system in Ajman. Sheikh Mohammed praised Sheikh Ammar for his leadership and commitment to aligning Ajman’s government with federal priorities.
Since becoming Chairman of the Executive Council in 2003, Sheikh Ammar has launched strategic initiatives such as Ajman Vision 2021 and Ajman Vision 2030, aimed at transforming the emirate’s economic and social landscape. His initiatives, including the Ajman Excellence Program and the Global Star Rating System for services, have notably enhanced public service delivery and customer satisfaction.
Sheikh Theyab Bin Mohamed Al Nahyan’s Leadership in National Projects
Sheikh Theyab bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Chairman of the Office of Development and Martyrs Families Affairs at the Presidential Court, was honoured for his outstanding contributions to major national infrastructure projects. His leadership in the National Railway Program and the Etihad Rail, which connects the UAE’s emirates and enhances economic integration across the Gulf, was acknowledged.
In addition to his work in infrastructure, Sheikh Theyab has been instrumental in community development. He committed Dh1 billion to develop ten villages under the Emirates Villages initiative, and introduced a Dh500 million community-focused package to improve the quality of life for all segments of society.
Recognition at the Mohammed bin Rashid Government Excellence Award Ceremony
Both Sheikh Ammar and Sheikh Theyab were honoured during the Mohammed bin Rashid Government Excellence Award ceremony, which celebrated exceptional achievements across various government sectors. The awards recognized leaders in categories such as best ministry, best authority, best director general, best federal employee, best teacher, and best school principal, among others.
Sheikh Mohammed reiterated the UAE’s commitment to continuous government performance monitoring and innovation, stating, “The development process continues, and our commitment to monitoring government performance remains steadfast. The UAE’s march towards the future will not be stopped by anyone.”
Focus on Excellence and Global Leadership
The 2024 Mohammed bin Rashid Government Excellence Award emphasized leadership, vision achievement, major projects, and overall competitiveness in government services. This year’s awards evaluated 225 candidates from 27 competing entities. The evaluation was conducted by over 130 Emirati and international experts, ensuring the UAE remains at the forefront of global governance transformation.
The ceremony aligned with the UAE’s “We the Emirates Vision 2031”, which envisions a prosperous and innovative future, reinforcing the nation’s role as a global leader in governance.
