Tour Operator Alleges Assault Over Minor’s Dubai Ticket Dispute in Vastrapur

A 47-year-old woman running a tour and travel agency in Vastrapur has filed a police complaint alleging she was molested and assaulted by a client and his associates during a dispute over a travel ticket for a minor. The Vastrapur police registered a case on Saturday and have begun an investigation.

According to the complainant, the incident occurred after a client initially booked eight tickets for a Dubai tour. Subsequently, another person booked an additional ticket for his eight-year-old daughter, while four of the original family tickets were cancelled. The tour operator claims she advised against confirming the child’s ticket, citing rules that prohibit minors from traveling internationally without parental accompaniment.

“We told the client that the girl could not travel alone to Dubai and suggested he cancel the ticket. However, he kept calling and pressuring us to confirm the booking,” she said in her statement.

The situation escalated on Friday when the client arrived at the office and insisted the ticket be confirmed. After staff reiterated that it was not permissible, he reportedly called the child’s father, who soon arrived at the office accompanied by his wife and a friend.

The complainant said that as the argument intensified, she and her husband emerged from their private office to intervene.

“All four began speaking to us in a threatening and inappropriate manner. When we tried to explain the situation, the girl’s father behaved indecently and pushed me on my chest, causing pain,” she alleged.

Following the incident, the office staff called emergency services. The woman was admitted to Sanjivani Hospital in Vastrapur, where she is currently undergoing treatment.

From her hospital bed, she filed a complaint against four individuals, including two women, accusing them of molestation, verbal abuse, and physical assault.

Police confirmed that an FIR has been registered and further investigation is underway.
