Thumbay Group to Launch Pioneering Management and AI College in Healthcare in Dubai
Dubai is set to welcome a groundbreaking institution in the field of healthcare education with the upcoming launch of Thumbay College of Management and AI in Healthcare by Thumbay Group. Scheduled to open within the year, the college aims to fill a niche by integrating artificial intelligence (AI) into healthcare management programs, a first of its kind in the UAE.
Dr Thumbay Moideen, founder and president of Thumbay Group, shared insights during an industry partners meet organized by Gulf Medical University (GMU). He expressed optimism about the college’s prospects, emphasizing its role in expanding the group’s footprint beyond healthcare into education and other sectors. “We plan to open in Dubai initially and subsequently explore opportunities in Saudi Arabia, London, and Singapore,” Dr Moideen stated.
The college, designed to accommodate approximately 300 students, will offer both undergraduate and postgraduate programs tailored to meet emerging demands in healthcare management augmented by AI technologies. Dr Moideen highlighted the strategic advantage of being the first institution dedicated to AI in healthcare education in the region.
Thumbay Group, renowned for its extensive healthcare and education services, plans to commence hiring 100 specialized professionals and administrative staff by January 2025 to support the college’s operations. Currently operating 6 colleges, 4 institutes, and 3 centers with 39 accredited programs serving students from over 102 nations, the group aims to strengthen its academic health system.
Looking forward, Gulf Medical University under Thumbay Group’s umbrella intends to expand its global presence with new branches across the Middle East. Plans include introducing additional courses, increasing the total accredited programs to 45 by the 2025-2026 academic year, and establishing an AI lab to foster innovation and research in healthcare.
Professor Hossam Hamdy, Chancellor of Gulf Medical University, underscored the institution’s commitment to pioneering AI and informatics in healthcare education. “Our vision over the next five years is to lead in digital transformation and integrate AI technologies seamlessly into health education,” Professor Hamdy affirmed.
The launch of Thumbay College of Management and AI in Healthcare marks a significant milestone in Dubai’s educational landscape, poised to advance healthcare management through innovation and academic excellence.
