Abu Dhabi’s Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque Center has continued its annual Ramadan program, “Jusoor,” into its fourth season. The program aims to promote cultural understanding and unity by inviting individuals and institutions from diverse backgrounds residing in the UAE to spend a day at the mosque, embodying the values of volunteerism, generosity, and cultural exchange.
Dr. Yousef Al Obaidli, Director General of the Center, emphasized the institution’s commitment to upholding the tolerant Islamic values championed by the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan. He highlighted the importance of the “Jusoor” program in fostering direct encounters based on shared human values and promoting understanding among different cultures, particularly during the spiritually significant month of Ramadan.
The program, consisting of nine episodes in its fourth season, welcomed over 394 participants representing 13 embassies and various agencies and institutions. Together, they distributed more than 1,750 breakfast meals at the mosque, fostering a spirit of unity and cooperation.
Embassies such as those of the United States, the United Kingdom, Australia, Canada, Germany, and others, along with organizations like Mubadala Company and ADNOC, actively participated in the program, furthering the mission of cultural exchange and mutual respect.
Salem Al Suwaidi, Acting Director of the Cultural Communication Department at the Sheikh Zayed Grand Mosque Center, explained that the program offers participants an immersive experience of Ramadan traditions, including volunteering to distribute meals, learning about the mosque’s cultural significance, and sharing a communal breakfast.
The “Jusoor” initiative reflects the Center’s ongoing commitment to cultural dialogue and fostering understanding among people of diverse backgrounds, aligning with its mission to serve as a beacon of tolerance and communication.
