His Excellency Sheikh Sultan bin Hamdan bin Mohammed Al Nahyan, Advisor to the President of the State and President of the Camel Racing Federation, conveyed his appreciation for the extensive backing camel racing receives from the wise leadership, manifested through numerous festivals and events held throughout the year.
Reflecting on the significance of camel racing as a continuation of the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan’s legacy, Sheikh Sultan attributed its preservation and popularity to the unwavering commitment of His Highness Sheikh Mansour bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Vice President of the State, Deputy Prime Minister, and Head of the Presidential Office. He highlighted Sheikh Mansour’s substantial contributions, which have enriched the sport with various activities, races, and festivals, thereby intensifying competition and garnering widespread participation in the capital, Al Mayadeen.
Sheikh Sultan underscored the enduring success of the Gulf’s premier event, the “Dara” festival, now in its 44th year, emphasizing the commitment to further advancing the sport by supporting its stakeholders, who represent a significant segment of society.
Welcoming camel owners from across the UAE and Gulf Cooperation Council countries to Al Wathba, Sheikh Sultan extended his best wishes for their success. He emphasized the festival’s role in fostering camaraderie and strengthening bonds among participants, epitomizing the spirit of brotherhood and unity inherent in camel racing.
