The Sharjah Government Media Bureau (SGMB) has announced the inclusion of specialized categories in the upcoming edition of the Sharjah Government Communication Award (SGCA). These categories aim to recognize communication experts, creatives, and youth who have developed campaigns aligned with future aspirations in the UAE and worldwide.
The move aligns with SGMB’s commitment to acknowledge the use of futuristic technologies, such as artificial intelligence (AI), and modern innovations in government communication practices. By embracing these advancements, SGMB aims to better serve the public and communities on both regional and global levels.
The award categories include “Best Use of Artificial Intelligence Technologies in Communication to Serve Community” and “Best Innovation in Communication.” These categories reflect the dedication of Sharjah and SGMB to reward excellence, agility, and creativity in government communication practices. Additionally, the award provides a prestigious global platform to showcase the latest innovations and achievements in the field, inspiring future communication professionals.
Government entities, private sector organizations, and individuals from the UAE, the region, and around the world are eligible to submit their applications for the different categories of SGCA until August 15.
A new international category, “Best Use of Artificial Intelligence Technologies in Communication to Serve Community,” welcomes submissions from government, semi-government, and private entities that have creatively implemented AI technologies in communication to serve communities. This category aims to honor those who have achieved tangible and scalable results, leading to beneficial public outcomes.
The international category “Best Innovation in Communication” is divided into two sub-categories. “Best Innovation in Government Communication” is open to government, semi-government, and private institutions that have spearheaded groundbreaking initiatives to drive their communication objectives. This award recognizes the skillful development of future plans that offer practical solutions to overcome unique and pressing challenges while adhering to ethical practices and fulfilling the aspirations of the target audience.
The sub-category “Best Initiative within the Annual Youth Challenge” invites participants of workshops, activities, and challenges at the prestigious International Government Communication Forum (IGCF) to be eligible for the award. These workshops, conducted in partnership with renowned international institutions, serve as a platform for nurturing the capabilities of the younger generation in government communication.
The SGCA aims to celebrate outstanding achievements in government communication while highlighting innovative approaches and technologies that drive effective communication practices. The introduction of these specialized categories demonstrates Sharjah’s commitment to fostering advancements in the field and inspiring future communicators to shape the communication landscape in line with future aspirations.
