Pakistani Police Officials Praise Dubai’s Cutting-Edge Policing Model During Training Initiative

Dubai, UAE – April 7, 2025 – Two senior officers from Pakistan’s National Police have commended Dubai Police for pioneering a futuristic model of law enforcement that they say is setting new global benchmarks in policing.

Colonel Kamran Ali and Colonel Umar Farooq participated in the Police Innovation and Leadership Diploma (PIL)—an advanced training programme hosted by Dubai Police in collaboration with the Rochester Institute of Technology (RIT), USA. The initiative aims to develop next-generation law enforcement leaders through the integration of cutting-edge technology, proactive policing strategies, and community-centric governance.

In a statement issued by Dubai Police, the visiting officials lauded the emirate’s philosophy of “Smart. Secure. Together.”, calling it a holistic approach that effectively blends artificial intelligence, predictive security tools, and public engagement mechanisms.

“They’ve leveraged technology not just to enhance security, but to build a police force that is more inclusive, more efficient, and better connected with the public – a path that we, as law enforcement leaders, must follow,” said Colonel Kamran Ali, who commands a force of 2,500 officers in Pakistan.

Colonel Ali specifically pointed to Dubai’s use of AI, automation, and integrated data systems as an exemplary model of how modern technology can be harnessed not only to prevent crime but to foster trust between police forces and communities.

“Dubai has shown us how innovation can serve as a platform for both safety and civic collaboration,” he added.

Colonel Umar Farooq, who plays a key operational role in Pakistan’s police services, echoed these sentiments and emphasized the long-term impact of the training initiative.

“The diploma is more than just a learning experience—it’s an investment in the future of policing in Pakistan,” Farooq said.

A Regional Blueprint for Smart Policing

Dubai Police has garnered international acclaim for its forward-thinking approach to policing, which includes predictive crime mapping, smart patrol systems, AI-powered surveillance, and virtual police stations. The force has positioned itself as a global benchmark for tech-integrated law enforcement.

The Police Innovation and Leadership Diploma is part of the Dubai Police’s broader mission to promote international knowledge exchange and strengthen cross-border collaboration in security and governance.

As regional instability, urbanization, and digital transformation reshape the challenges faced by police forces, Dubai’s model is increasingly seen as a scalable blueprint for future-ready policing—not just in the Gulf but across the Global South.
