Minister Emphasizes Importance of Developing National Competencies at National Emirates Skills Competition

His Excellency Sheikh Nahyan bin Mubarak Al Nahyan, Minister of Tolerance and Coexistence, underscored the crucial role of sustainable development of young national competencies as a fundamental pillar in the UAE’s comprehensive and sustainable development process. He highlighted the significance of investing in youth as the country’s most valuable resource, prioritized by the wise leadership.

During his visit to the 15th edition of the National Emirates Skills Competition, held under the patronage of Her Highness Sheikha Fatima bint Mubarak, “Mother of the Emirates,” Sheikh Nahyan explored various platforms showcasing the skills of Emirati youth in areas such as car maintenance, health and social care, computer-assisted sculpture, and mobile robotics.

Sheikh Nahyan commended the commitment of the UAE’s leadership to nurturing national competencies, emphasizing their role in sustaining success, preserving achievements, and contributing to the nation’s progress. He expressed pride in witnessing a new generation of talented Emirati youth equipped with the necessary skills to contribute confidently to the UAE’s continued success.

Dr. Mubarak Saeed Al Shamsi, Director General of the Abu Dhabi Center for Technical and Vocational Education, highlighted the growing significance of the National Emirates Skills Competition as a platform for honing and developing national talents. He emphasized the pivotal role of the competition in aligning with the UAE’s economic vision and empowering Emirati youth with skills essential for participation in the country’s sustainable development.

The annual competition aims to celebrate Emirati talent, enhance the efficiency and productivity of Emirati youth, and equip them with the skills necessary for effective participation in the country’s economic development. It aligns with Abu Dhabi Economic Vision 2030 by promoting technical and vocational education among young Emiratis to prepare them for a workforce that drives economic and technological growth.
