The highly anticipated fourth edition of the IMMAF Youth World Championships, hosted under the patronage of H.H. Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Chairman of Abu Dhabi Executive Council, is set to begin at the Mubadala Arena in Zayed Sports City tomorrow.
The opening day of the championship will witness athletes in the Youth C category (aged 12-13 years) competing in the octagon, promising a thrilling display of Mixed Martial Arts (MMA).
Activities for the championship will commence on Wednesday with the weigh-ins at 07:00, followed by the Group Stage and Knockout fights starting at 10:00. The Finals will take place at 14:30, culminating in the awards ceremony. Teams from across the globe have arrived in Abu Dhabi and are currently immersed in last-minute preparations.
Brigadier Mohammed bin Dalmouj Al Dhaheri, Board Member of the UAE Jiu-Jitsu Federation and Chairman of the Federation’s Mixed Martial Arts Committee, assured that the Mubadala Arena is fully prepared to host this prestigious event. He highlighted the participating athletes’ intense training and determination to deliver an exceptional performance in this championship.
As the UAE Jiu-Jitsu and Mixed Martial Arts Federation hosts the event for the second consecutive year, they have endeavored to create a distinctive and welcoming atmosphere, showcasing Abu Dhabi’s standing as a leading destination for international sporting events.
Al Dhaheri expressed confidence in the national team’s abilities, stating that they have full faith in their athletes to excel and secure medals. The UAE team has diligently prepared for the championship and is committed to representing their nation with utmost dedication and pride.
The four-day championship, taking place until 5th August, will witness a record-breaking 636 athletes from 45 countries, ensuring an exceptional showcase of world-class MMA talent.
