Under the esteemed patronage of H.H. Sheikh Khaled bin Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Chairman of Abu Dhabi Executive Council, the 4th IMMAF Youth World Championships commenced in Abu Dhabi. The event is taking place from 2nd to 5th August at the Mubadala Arena in Zayed Sports City.
During the opening ceremony, Sheikh Khaled presented medals to the winners of the competitions held on Thursday, praising the remarkable talent exhibited by the participating athletes. He commended the UAE Jiu-Jitsu and Mixed Martial Arts Federation for their efforts in enhancing the global appeal of the sport, nurturing new talents, and showcasing Abu Dhabi’s exceptional infrastructure and facilities, making it an ideal host for major international competitions.
Sheikh Hamdan bin Sultan bin Hamdan Al Nahyan, board members of the UAE Jiu-Jitsu and Mixed Martial Arts Federation, and government officials were also present at the event.
Abdul Moneim Al Hashemi, Chairman of UAE Jiu-Jitsu and Mixed Martial Arts Federation, expressed his gratitude to Sheikh Khaled for his patronage and participation in crowning the winners. He highlighted the unwavering support of UAE’s leaders as the driving force behind Emirati success and achievement in sports.
Al Hashemi praised the extraordinary competitions of the IMMAF Youth World Championships, where athletes from around the world showcased their exceptional talent. He emphasized that the growing popularity and global appeal of MMA were evident in the event. Abu Dhabi’s consecutive hosting of the World Championship demonstrated the IMMAF’s unwavering trust in the city and showcased its impeccable organizational capabilities and advanced sports infrastructure. Over the past two decades, Abu Dhabi has successfully organized and hosted numerous world-class tournaments in various combat sports, attracting talented athletes, renowned stars, and influential personalities from all corners of the globe.
